JOSHUA, ALAKOA founder

I grew up in Cape Town, surrounded by towering mountains, the vastness of the ocean, and the serenity of the trees, fostering a deep connection with nature that would remain central to my life.

My journey eventually led me to London, where, after many years in the intensity of the corporate world, I found myself burnt out, unfulfilled, and searching for something deeper.

The relentless rat race had drained me, leaving me on a path that felt increasingly disconnected from who I truly was.

Seeking purpose and balance, I made the bold decision to move to Ibiza, where I returned to nature and began a transformative exploration of modern and ancient healing therapies, including breathwork, meditation, and psychedelic therapy.

During this time, I attended numerous retreats and programmes designed to help me rewire my brain, let go of limiting beliefs, and heal deep-rooted patterns that had kept me from living my best life.

Alongside my personal transformation, I trained in various forms of coaching and psychotherapy, eventually becoming a qualified life coach and men's work facilitator. I am also currently training to become a psychedelic practitioner, deepening my ability to support others on their own healing journeys.

Over the years, I’ve built and run businesses that reflect my commitment to sustainability and wellbeing. I founded Ripple Effect, a sustainable catering company in South Africa, and DROP, an elixir bar company in Ibiza that serves medicinal drinks and a range of wellness products.

Today, I run ALAKOA Evolution, a lifestyle management brand that offers one-to-one coaching, corporate wellness consultancy and transformational retreats.
